Hannagan Meadow Loop Camp & RideMeet up with the Arizona and New Mexico Airheads July 31st to August 2nd for some of the best riding in both states! On Saturday, we'll head south from Luna Lake Campground near Alpine, AZ. into New Mexico, traveling through the historic towns of Luna, Alma (with possible detours to Reserve, and the old mining town of Mogollon), and Glenwood, crossing into Arizona at Mule Creek Pass. From there, maybe lunch in Clifton (another historic mining town), and north on the Coronado Trail-one of the most beautiful bike rides anywhere. It's right about 100 miles of mountain vistas, 15 mph corners for miles, lots of wildlife, and pretty much no towns, topping out at 9400' near Hannagan Meadow, another great lunch/dinner stop. From there, it's a leisurely ride into Alpine, a one-time logging town, and Luna Lake. By the way, the lake is great for fishing, and offers boat rentals. We'll be in Group Camp "B" on the other side of the lake. Tim and I will furnish coolers, stoves, 4 pop-up canopies, firewood, and 2 chase vehicles, and we'll be opening up the place before noon on Friday. For more info, contact Dave at 480-338-7605 or Tim at 505-228-0663. See you there!
