SALTON SEA RENDEZVOUS
Is your airhead ready? Are you ready? Friday the 10th through Sunday the 12th of November is the Salton Sea Rendezvous at the Salton Sea State Recreation Area – Mecca Beach Campground 100225 State Park Road Mecca CA 92254 (The Northeast quadrant of the Salton Sea along Hwy 111) We will rendezvous at the Mecca Beach Campground which is the first campground south of the park’s main headquarters for a weekend of camaraderie & debauchery with some tent camping and motorcycle riding thrown in for extra fun. This is a traditional Airheads Rendezvous so bring all you need to keep yourself well fed, warm, & hydrated. You can literally camp on the beach & be treated to amazing sunsets in the evening & a plethora of seabirds in the mornings. All the services you need (gas, groceries, & restaurants) are located within 15 miles north or south of the campground. The campground is paved in asphalt, there are flush toilets in the bathrooms and solar “heated” showers to keep things clean. Everyone is welcome and if you have to arrive on 4 wheels, that’s okay – there’s plenty of room. We’ll pass the hat to collect the campsite fees + cover any goodies (don’t worry, it’s cheap!).
