Hanover Camp & Ride. July 21- 23, 2023

Event Details

What: A weekend in south, central Pennsylvania. Riding, camping, fellowship and maybe a few good meals.

Details: Camping is on 6 acres with a pole barn and log home. Trees cover most of the property, all trimmed so camping can take place below the pines. The barn will have several bays available for lounging, wrenching, sipping and listening to tunes (we have done it before, it works well).  A campfire is a possibility. Tools and a hydraulic lift are available for a pretty good variety of jobs. I think we even did a little welding last time.
Riding happens Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. Located in Southern York County and near Adams county there are many back roads to be found and explored. Without too much effort an entire day can be spent on rural roads that twist through country farmlands. Gettysburg is about 20 miles west with some nice roads to be found there as well.
In the event of foul weather we tend to hang out in the barn and do some wrench work on the bikes. If they are all running perfectly (really?) I do have a R25 with a timing issue that I would love to get running. A folding chair would be a good thing to bring along if you have one.
Meal plan – Friday will be pizza and a variety of beverages. You may also bring your own liquid refreshment as well. Coolers and ice will be in the barn. Saturday and Sunday morningwill see coffee and donuts. Those desiring a larger breakfast may find it at one of several local establishments. Saturday lunch is with whatever group you choose to travel with and where you choose to stop. Maps will be pulled and suggestions made on Friday night/Saturday morning. Saturday supper is tentatively planned for a local micro-brewery (or two) depending on the group size. There are several in town and one or two in Gettysburg.
Costs: $40 per person, payable on arrival. This covers pizza, drinks, coffee, donuts and the on site porta-potty. Cold clean water is available as well. No showers, no beds (we’re camping, remember?) You can bring your own beverages and snacks.
If better facilities are desired Codorus State Park is about 2 miles away. They have camp sites, (some with  electric hookups) bathrooms and showers. You can find them by searching “Codorus State Park camping”.
Capacity for the event – first 30 that sign up. No mail in deposits, etc. Weather may wash out a few, you can cancel if you have the need.
Sign up with an email to me (Chris) at ericksonsvc@pa.net.     Sign up before 7/1.  Questions to the same email. By signing up you will get “on the list” and a reply giving you an address for your GPS.

There is some great riding to be had in the area, let’s hope the weather makes it the perfect weekend.
