Throttle Cable Routing R90/6

Can I get the proper routing of the throttle cables(2) on a '75 R90/6? Right now, I have both cables entering each side through the flat frame braces & frame (right & left) and exiting through above the short round horizontal frame brace. The left side then moves behind the frame lock and down toward the carb. Right side exits toward carb. I have not seen a better way, but still hardly any slack. Opening the adjustment at the carb to full slack I barely have 1/8". What did I miss? Thanks, Mike

• First check that you have the correct cables for your handlebars. There are numerous lengths for RT, S and RS width bars. If these cables are new, check them against the old cable length.
• From there you simply have to play with it. You want a routing that allows the largest radii possible.
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

You all should know that:
the stock cables bmw sells are 1x19 strands inner wire. There are better inner wires available. Flanders company [john] and maybe barnett cables can make you up a better set using 7x7 inner wire cable. the 7x7 IS SO MUCH more flexible than the cheaper 1x19 stranded wire.
