I received a box of parts containing a Corbin seat, seat cowl and some miscellaneous parts. The hinges are missing from the seat pan as are the bumpers. Corbin has no interest in refurbishing the pan and would sell me a set of hinges if I desired. I ordered what I believe to be all the correct bumpers using the BMW fiche. Now, does this seat need two hinges; is the seat fastened to the cowling; does anyone have photos of a seat that is properly set up? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

• There are 2 hinges.

• On my '79 RT the bumpers for a Corbin had to be longer than stock because the Corbin seat pan rode higher. Without longer bumpers, the cowling hits the saddle bag mounting hardware back near the tail lamp. Be sure and check for 1/4" clearance or the hardware can ruin your seat cowling and paint job.

• On a lot of these years, both hinges were removed by owners on all seat brands because they could not be used due to interference with saddle bag mounting hardware. (The flat chrome bar type hardware. Not sure what brand bag that is.) Mine is fitted with a post, which works in tandem with the std seat lock post. When the seat is unlocked, the entire seat lifts straight up... and off.

Hope this helps.
