hi Every one

I was hoping to replace rear seal on the engine, the centre ring guide proving really difficult to remove.

Not wanting to put to much pressure on ring guide, has any one got some wisdom to share

Has any one applied heat to center ring to remove it? how easy did it come off

did any one make  make a puller up or use bmw puller

Before some says did you block crankshaft, yes I did !!

Thanks

I have never owned or done much work on a GS, so I can not speak with authority. Also, I am not familiar with the terminology.  I am assuming you are speaking of the rear main seal.   Would the "centre guide ring" be the clutch carrier? A picture would be helpful.

► Did you "chock the crank" before disassembling the clutch? That's a VERY important first step.

► Did you mark the relative positions of the pieces of the clutch before disassembly?

Just checking....

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
