I have noticed many thin wave washers used with fasteners on this 71 r75/5. Being unfamiliar with them, is there a correct orientation when installing? Please excuse the dumb question. Also, the crossmember which holds the bearings in the swingarm weldment looks like it has been formed to contour the tire(???). On the opposite side of the crossmember it is also contoured, much smaller. Is this damage or should this "dent" be there? I have searched and can't find a picture anywhere. Thanks in advance for any input.

The wavy washers go either way, same thing. The indentations on the swing arm are by-design, no worries.
