Will be lacing a set of wheels for for a R80GS. Looking for spec. on hub to wheel offset. Could not find it in service manual.

Welcome Aboard !

Here's a trick that you can use if no one shows up with numbers....

Lace the front wheel first. Motorcycle front wheels are always centered between the front forks. Use a caliper, and if you can get things within 1mm, then that's great.

Lace the rear wheel last. Align the rear wheel to the front wheel. If you need straight edges for alignment, then 8ft florescent light tubes make excellent (although very delicate !) straight edges. Remember that the rear rim is wider than the front, so a slight offset is required when working from the rim's outer edges.

Hope this helps.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

Found a owner with a similar bike locally. Luckily he had the wheel removed to replace the tire. With a straightedge across his wheel the dimension to the outer edge of the hub face is 3/16 on the lug nut side. Because there is no center in the wheel I fabricated a hub adapter to mount the wheel using the flange where it mounts to the rear drive on the bike.
