Hello for the first time dear Airheads.
I bought my very first Beemer about 8 months ago, an R100LT, and have become quite enamoured and strangely obsessed with Boxers, and extremely impressed by the detailed knowledge that is available and shared by you people.

I have just begun to build a ‘track’ bike with an R65 engine, it’s primary purpose to go as fast as possible in a straight line. It is not for the street, (unless I can)!
I want it to rev as high as possible and to produce as many HP as possible without blowing up.
I have contacted Motoren Israel for camshaft suggestions and they have advised me that a 340^ cam is the one for me. I am waiting on some specifications but the guy told me it has a large valve overlap, high lift, good torque, and works well at high rpm.
I’m wondering what you mob think about this, if anyone has had any experience with these cams, and what may be the implications of fitting this cam to the R65 donk that I should be thinking about before I make a decision?
