I am converting a 1984 R100RTdual shock into a monoshock and I have some questions:

I am putting GS front and rear tires, but will have r100 front forks. Will there be a clearance problem? Possible shimming?
Any rear wheel clearance issues that might arise?
Any feedback on what kind of tab to weld onto the frame for the monoshock mount also would be appreciated.

I have seen this done on one other Airhead. The owner of that bike welded a stout mounting point on the main frame in a fashion similar to what a mono-shock frame is built like. His entire conversion was self fabricated. If I remember correctly, he used a piece of common mild steel, maybe 3/8 thick. That owner used the twin shock swing arm minus the second shock.

That's a very ambitious undertaking. I'm very impressed.

Keep us posted.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

Here's the photoshop mockup. I will post the painted frame and monoshock tab soon.

Do you want to sell your dual-shock R100 swing-arm/driveshaft?
I need one.
Thanks.
