Oil Drain Plug Striping

Topic starter
I went to change the oil in my '78 R100/7. The drain plug will not come loose and now it feels like I'm striping the hex hole. What can I do to get the drain plug out? I've changed the oil many times in the past with no incident. I'm ordering a new drain plug to replace when I get this one off.

Hammer and punch. Have a new plug and seal ready to install.
From now on use only the correct size metric hex SOCKET wrench on a pull handle to change the oil.
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
