I've got a set of Skeene's P3 lights to put on my /6. Unfortunately, the rear wiring is hidden inside of a sub-frame tube, making is kinda hard to get to. Has anyone done this upgrade, and where did you tie into each of the wires to make the needed connections?

Thanks, Kevin

I was able to wire and install the module inside the tail light assembly. It was a tight fit and took some patience. It has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years.

► I added additional lights to the rear of my bike and made all the connections inside the tail lamp using common male and female 1/4" spade connectors. I especially like this method becasue it allows you to plug and unplug for fault testing... AND you can easily move the lights to another Airhead since the harness hasn't been altered.

► I'm looking at the $130 prices these things cost. You can do the same thing with a Brake Light Strobe unit ($4.95) and some red LED arrays which run under $8 each.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

Thanks all for your input. I wanted to tuck everything in the tail light housing, but just couldn't find a way to place the modulator that seemed sufficiently protected from the light's mounting studs and those strange copper wire connectors that the factory used. So I ended up velcro'ing it on the rear fender under the very rear end of the seat, and then running the harness to the tail light.

My Skeene tail lights came off of 2 previous bike and have been in service for over three years with no issues. I think you will see a long service life.

Velcro to space under the seat will work so that solution is perfect for you. The module and led bars are well sealed to protect from moisture and road dirt.
