Initial maintenance

I'll be collecting my 1971 R75/5 shortly and I'm trying to put together a list of thing I should do before running it (to make sure I don't make anything worse).
Here is my list so far:
- Rinse petrol tank
- Clean and rebuild carburettors
- Change engine oil and filter
- Change gearbox oil
- Change rear drive oil
- Lubricate input shaft splines
- Lubricate rear splines
- Adjust valve clearances
- Replace ignition points
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

► I would not rebuild the carbs, but rather remove the float bowls and inspect for crud. If no crud is found, then put fuel in the tank, turn ON the petcocks, and (with the bowls still removed) make sure fuel flows to the bowls.
If the idle jet and the choke jet in the bowl aren't clogged, then it's a good bet the larger ones aren't either.
► I don't see a notation about a battery replacement or service.
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
