I need a good engine mechanic
I own a '72 R75/5. I need rings and push rod seal. I have been having a tough time finding a mechanic that does say. "I have worked on one of these back in the day." I am trying to find someone that is regularly familiar with our machines. I live very close to Kennedy airport on the boarder of Queens and Nassau on Long Island, N.Y. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks for looking. It can include N.J. and Ct. The tri-state area is all pretty accessible around the Metro NYC area. Thanks
Don't know how far north you want to go but there is a good shop in the southern Adirondacks. Heids BMW/Hodaka Garnet Lake Rd. Johnsburg, NY
phone: 1-518-251-2110. Paul Heid is the person to talk to. They are a family owned shop an work on all the vintages.
Good Luck
Thanks so much. I will give Paul a call. Really appreciate the help. Best to ya.....
Contact your local Air Marshall and he can likely point you in the right direction. If the cylinder bores are good the rings & pushrod seals could easily be replaced at a tech day, just would need to make sure you had the right parts and some help.
ON THE ABC WEBSITE THERE IS A LIST OF AIRHEAD CAPABLE SHOPS
also BMWRA has a site that lists the same.
