Front wheel bearing mystery
I decided to replace the wheel bearings on my ‘72 R50/5. I heated the hub and removed all the hub internal components in one stack. Then I dry fitted the new bearings and adjusted for preload. Once I was happy with that i greased the bearings and installed the internal parts in one stack back into the hub. Then I installed the wheel back on the bike and torqued to spec. When I went to spin the wheel it would hardly move. Assuming everything I did was correct and that all the components worked perfectly outside the wheel what would cause the wheel to not spin freely when mounted back on the bike? Appreciate any ideas on what’s going on. Thanks.
And you're sure this is not a brake issue ?
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
Actually i'm not sure if it's it a brake issue. I'm going to get back at this weekend and I'll report back. Thanks.
