Has anyone used bg44 on 70s bike So? Any downsides, I use on my cars all the time.

Never heard of or used BG44, however it seems that super strong carb cleaners, like Seafoam, can eat the "rubber" parts of the carb right up. Parts like the diaphragm and o-rings.

If you are not experiencing any specific issues and are simply trying to head off future problems, then a regular diet of name brand fuel which include cleaners is enough. Chevron and Shell come to mind.

If you are trying to stabilize your fuel due to infrequent riding, then I prefer a product called StarTron, which is sold at Home Depot and West Marine. It was developed for use in boats and is excellent in stabilizing and cleaning.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
