I never had this much trouble with my Kawasaki Concourse. Help !

This is becasue the Concourse probably is fitted with electronic fuel injection, which typically forces the available fuel into the intake under extreme pressure. Not only that, but the computerized controller for the EFI senses the ambient temperature and automatically adjusts the volume of fuel to be correct for the state of the engine.

Whereas your Airhead BMW is using a gravity-fed pool of fuel, which is then lifted into the intake via vacuum while being metered through various orifices, and is therefore subject not only to the age of the fuel but also any restrictions along the multiple fuel paths. Additionally, any mixture enrichment required to account for the ambient temperatures must be appropriately judged and then manually applied by the operator.

Apples and oranges, my friend.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
