78 R80/7 Carb Air Tubes - FYI

I had one that was in not so good condition and got a replacement. Looking at the fiche, it appeared that all the years (3) I've had it they were upside down with the 2 clamps/rubber at the carb and not the airbox. Changed it up and what do you know...They fit proper and snug. I always felt that the connection at the airbox was a little "off". Most I see in photos are installed with 2 clamps at the carb. Might be worth a look if you have the same bike.
Just a FYI.

Thanks for posting Jnicks! Same bike- mine are backwards and wonky, always puzzled me. Gonna get that switched today as I need to reattach the choke lever, as the nut fell off.

Just wondering. How did it work out for you? Would you agree or disagree with my logic?

It didn't work for me, it seems, the 2 clamps and rubber need to go on the carb side on my setup.
