Howdy Air headers...hope this is the right category for this question.

I am doing a resto on a 1977 R100 and I wish to paint it in the BMW 534 Burnt Orange Metallic.

I have talked to Wesco Auto Paint and Sherwin Williams but none of them recognize or can find that code.

Do you know if there is a more "modern" code that works? Or do you know of a late model vehicle that has a similar hue that is a close match? For example, Dodge have a great copper metallic that may work but I want it to be close to the factory hue.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Rolf

I would look here http://refinish.basf.us/where-to-buy/ to find a distributor close to you.

BASF handles Glasurit, the original suppler to BMW for their motorcycle finishes from that era. They will have the code, and it can be used for their Gla$$$urit, R-M and Limco lines. I went with the quite affordable Limco line for a recent repaint of my Alaska blue '84 RS and it turned out beautifully.
