Go West old Beemer

Looking to plan a western road trip for July from Pennsylvania to the Pacific Ocean via ??? and back.
Just starting this thread to get ideas.
Both the bike and I are getting up in age so I think it’s now or never.

I live near San Francisco and have ridden to Ohio and back to visit family many times. I can recommend riding US50. It is a much nicer ride than taking I-70. On the return a more northerly route through Yellowstone, Black Hills and Badlands is nice. A Southern route passing by the Grand Canyon, Southern Utah and Southern Colorado is a scenic option too. You could also continue the southern route through Texas to Mississippi and ride up the Natches Trace.
Nowadays I take 7 days of traveling for the trip to Ohio but, I have done in 3 days.

I’m planning on taking Rt50 heading west but not sure how I’ll come back. BTW, what time of year did you take your trips?

Usually in July which was very hot through Kansas and Nevada. I used a cooling vest which helps a lot when the humidity is low. I usually returned in August or early September, a little cooler but usually wetter.
