FREE Ride Maps !!
My brother and I picked up a FREE ride maps while touring southern Virginia earlier in the spring. We used the map on the way back to Georgia and discovered many new routes and really great rides. Since that time we have used it numerous times and been completely delighted. The map is published by WildRides.Info (web address http://www.wildrides.info/ ) an advertising company in Black River, NY. As it turns out, they have a whole slew of FREE maps covering most of the USA.
We picked up the blue map of the southern Appalachians. On it are approximately 25 loop rides from 100 to 300 miles long. The 24x36" map is very detailed as far as road names, ride lengths, and points of interest along the way. Also marked are motorcycle shops and motorcycle friendly places to eat and sleep. Apparently, a family member actually rides all these loops and records all the pertinent details. On the back are the ads which pay for the map publication, all of which add detail to the locations noted on the map.
FREE maps can be ordered from This Link, or they are often available where tourist pamphlets are found.
This company also has ride videos and FREE downloadable maps on their web site. Lots of so-so Harley content as one might expect, but the maps are first rate.
