Texas will be coming out of Covid restrictions at some point, and I'd like to see more on the airhead calendar this year. So I'm proposing a picnic meet up for late spring, and a Tech Day in summer or fall. I'm also proposing that a Distinguished Gentleman Ride be organized in either the panhandle or west, so our city friends don't have all the fun.

If you're an Airhead in Texas, please respond here with your name, city, email address and bike(s). If you'd prefer to be more private you can email me that info. I'll start an email group to communicate with anyone interested about these two possible gatherings. I won't send you a bunch of crap, just some info about possible airhead gatherings.

Thanks!

David Elkow, 65 and retired, way down in Mission, TX, dgelkow@gmail.com, ‘78 R100 w/Hannigan.  Originally from the Chicago area, lived in Kentucky since ‘89, retired to south Texas about 3 years ago. Have had my ‘78 airhead since 1980.

Saw the other post regarding Texas. I checked mileages. From my home to yours (Lubbock) is more than 1/3 the distance to Canada.

@richard-fish hello Richard.  Missed seeing your message. I’ve been to Canyon Lake. Nice Area. I have family in Austin, so travel your direction now and again.  If I’m that way on the bike, I may look you up!

Maybe we should have a two man tech day?

I had not looked before but, our membership directory says we have 85 club members in Texas. Certainly we should be able to pull off a tech weekend, or some such thing. I know it’s a huge chunk of ground, but if someone hosted close to the geographic center, seems like it could work (San Angelo to Waco territory).

#5 here in Jarrell, TX. Had a 71 R60/5 for 8 years once, currently on the hunt for an R90 or better. Maybe a R75/6 in a pinch. Hope Texas can put something together sooner or later for a Tech Day. I'll visit even if I have to arrive on the R1150GS.
