bought a 78 R100/7 recently that I haven't picked up yet. It's a 3/78 build, but it has the older style speedo and tach with white lettering and turn signal on the bottom of the pod

Shouldn't this bike have the newer green lettering setup with the turn signal at the top, like this 78 R100S?

Or is is one of those situations where BMW Motorrad were still using leftover stock? Given the 3/78 build date I wouldn't think so. Then again I also have wire wheels
