I'm in the process of installing new seals and gasket on my R75/5 gearbox and noticed a small pinhole located above the output shaft hole on the rear cover. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be there (some sort of air vent) or do I have a damaged cover?

I believe that drilled hole is the breather for the drive shaft oil. The drive shaft and the gearbox then breathe through the speedo cable retention bolt.
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
