The lower front center grille (46 63 1 238 920 ENGINE COVERING CENTER) on the RT and RS fairings came in multiple opening sizes and opening shapes. I have heard rumors that the earliest versions reduced the air flow into the front cover and caused the alternator to over heat. I just purchased a RS fairing of undocumented age. Is there a list of which grilles to use when and where ? Or if that is not available, can one assume that all front grilles with the large opening for the oil cooler are of late enough vintage to be usable in anywhere in North America ?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.

you can always use a router or other devise / a die grinder if you're skilled at straight lines and ADD some venting.

i don't run an oil cooler on my R90 so i made this deflector that is screwed to my screen & safety wired as well.
