The connecting end from the can to the harness has broken due to age and heat, is there a possible way to find the proper end as to facilitate repair?

Pretty sure Rick at Motorrad Elektrik can supply a new connector.
If you are talking about the ivory-colored connector, then this is true.

Rick supplies the new connector already made onto a ~10" lead. You dismount the bean can from the engine, take it to the bench, and solder in the new wires. This part is not listed on his web page. You have to call and ask for it.
