After last weekend's "Mighty 190 Rendezvous" my 1990 R100GS came home in need of new tires.
I've been happily using the Avon Gripster AM24 tires for the last couple of decades and went down to my long time local tire shop in San Diego.
I was surprised to hear that the Gripster rears are not available and there are only a few Gripster fronts available.
Two questions for the forum:
-Anybody know where I can find some new Gripsters?
-Is the Avon Trailrider a good replacement for the Gripster?

I've put about 1K miles on my new Avon Trail Rider tires and I'm very happy with them.
They are a great replacement for the old Avon Gripster AM24.
