/5 Headlight switch---rebuildable?
Has anyone rebuilt a /5 headlight switch? I have an early /6 with the plain black switches which I assume was inventory the factory was depleting during the transition to the /6 models. My switches are not like the later /6 versions with colors and labels.
Are you talking about the handlebar Hi/Lo switch ?? The R75 I worked on had the funny spherical head lamp beam and turn signal switches. I can help a little with those.
A photo would help.

Wobbly,
Yes, I am referring to the switches on the handlebars. My Beemer has the barrel key activated ignition in the headlight shell. The key has five positions: Parking lights, Off, On, Parking Lights, Headlights. The switch on the left grip has four functions: auto return from down for Passing Light, Low Beam, flip up for High Beam, and press in for Horn. The switch on the right grip has three functions: Up for Left turn, Down for right turn, and press in for Start.
Somewhere in the writings of Snowbum I picked up on the use of /5 parts on the early /6's. That is when it dawned on me I am looking for help with what is probably a 1973, /5 handlebar mounted headlight switch. The switches are both unmarked, small, and black. Any info you have on this switch, and the right hand turn signal/start switch, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry for the long wait, but I finally realized no repair was required on the bike in my care. But I did happen to find this helpful article. See this (and surrounding) authoritative article(s) on the subject...
