Right side rod bearing failure .left side looks good .what could cause this.60,000 miles switch to synthetic oil 5,000 miles ago.

Very sorry to hear that.
A year and model would really help. However, other than running out of oil, the only issue common to most Airheads is improper oil filter change with special focus on the white o-ring. You might want to research the Airhead web page by "Snowbum" and read the story of "The $2000 O-ring".
