When removing the tank from my 93 R100GSPD the rubber spacer fell to the ground. I can not determine where it is to be relocated. I've been told it attaches to the tank itself with rubber cement. This seems weird to me as I feel it would be better to attach to the frame, but who am I to question why BMW decided to place it where they did? Anyway, I just need to know where on the tank to "glue' it back on. Measurement from rear & or front & hopefully I can find the exact center & re-glue it on.

If the rubber spacer you are asking about is the same as on my 93PD it fits on the front of the tank. Every time I remove my tank it falls off. I have not glued it as I just place it on the tank. There probably is a notch on one long side and it attaches to the tank. It has never fallen off after 55,00+ miles of road and off road riding.
