Choke cable issue

When I use the choke on my '72 r75 everything works fine. When I move the lever back to the off position the left side pushes the chock off but the right side doesn't. The cable pushes the cable housing out from the lever. I must push down on the choke at the carb to turn it off. Doing this returns the cable housing to the normal position. Anyone have any ideas on getting the housing to stay in the correct position?

If I remember correctly, the small cable adapter with the external hex is threaded internally. If you'll take the cable housing and rotate it, the housing will thread its way up into the adapter. When the housing is completely engaged inside the adapter, the black cable sheath will come up flush with the adapter as a visual check. It's the same on both ends of the cable.

So before offering the choke cable to the carburetor, you need the adapters on both ends completely screwed in and onto the cable housing.

Hope this helps.
