Adhesive for engine emblems

Topic starter
What type of adhesive should I use to reattach my R80/7 emblems to the crankcase? I would hate to use the wrong stuff and have it fall off while riding.

Traditionally, 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive was used but it's very messy. I greatly prefer the 1" wide 3M super-duper double-sided adhesive tape.
