79 r80/7 forks
the forks "top out" with a clunk when jerking up on the center stand, also when rebounding over abrupt road surfaces. the sag is 3.25" and they move smoothly. does this indicate low fork fluid? what should the sag be? i'm 150 lbs. and only ride solo without baggage etc.

There's only one way to check the fork oil, and that's to go ahead and change it. That is always the very first step in any diagnosis of front fork issues anyway, so go ahead and do that. It's an easy owner-mechanic 1 hour maintenance chore. If you think you need help, then it's the perfect reason to visit a local Tech Session. Just be sure and bring your own replacement fluid.
Fork oil should be changed every year anyway. Not because the fluid is worn out, but to remove any accumulation of water.

Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
