Does anyone have a 78 or so R100RS with the factory installed four way flashers? If so, does the turn signal indicator light on the dash light up when they are activated as well as the light in the four way switch? On my R80RT the turn signal indicator does not light when the four way flashers are on only the light in the switch lights (Is this correct?). I have not had the bike together for 17 years and am having it rebuilt. The owner of the shop called and said he is having an issue with the turn signal indicator light not lighting when the turn signals or the four way flashers are on. I can't recall if the indicator light lit up with the four way flashers or not. If it does or doesn't (like on my R80RT) could make a difference where to look for the problem. Also does anyone have a wiring diagram for the factory four way flashers? None of my diagrams show the four way flasher system. St.

Your question is not clear because the first part insinuates that the turn signal indicator works normally except when the four-way flasher (which has its own indicator) is activated. Then in the second part it seems as if the shop is reporting that the turn indicator bulb never works. So which is it ?

That bulb is short lived because it stays ON 100% of the time to indicate ignition power AND turn signal usage.

So are you saying the shop is qualified to clean fuel systems and tune an R80, but can't replace an indicator bulb ? I sincerely don't mean to offend, but something here is simply beyond my comprehension, brother.

OK Wobbly, First, I asked if the turn signal indicator lights up with the four way flashers on. I have heard from another RS rider with the factory four way flashers and he says yes it does. First question understood and answered.
MY shop knows how to check bulbs and YES I am offended. YOU did not read my question properly. St.

I apologize, I don't see that reply inside this thread. And my Bosch crystal ball has gone on the fritz again. I think it's those damned German fuses. How are we supposed to know that information pertinent to your solution has been added ?

MY shop knows how to check bulbs...

This is indeed a relief.

...and YES I am offended. YOU did not read my question properly. St.

Duly noted. I'm adding you to my easily offended even when I try my best list.

All the best.

When asking for help in any forum or public place there is a risk of getting less than helpful replies. Of the the 10 people who replied to my question, nine were able to understand the question and reply with pertinent replies. You Wobbly were not one of the nine. Not only did you not properly read my question, you had to insult me as well.

Put me on your easily offended list or what ever else list you want. DO NOT ANSWER my posts in the future. If you are indeed the moderator of this forum you may handle this message as you wish. Learn to read and learn to keep your smart answers to yourself

As for me, I want you to apologize for your insults to me and the shop I do business with. Any smart comments or "funny replies" funny faces or what not will result in my sending a note to whomever is in charge of the Airhead organization. St.
