1981 R80G/S
I am rebuilding a G/S and searching for a fuse box. I can't find the part in the fiche, asked BMW SF with no results. Any suggestions? Russ

back ordered at Max with no release date.
If you want reliability, then I suggest moving away from the pointy-end German fuses to the modern "flat pack" fuses used in cars. And using them means you won't need the fuse box either.

HI,
are you talking about different fuse box part # 61 13 1 382 196 with fuses part # 61 13 1 372 526? Without fuse box where would I install fuses?

At least on my bike, the harness terminated in 4 female spade connectors, which plugged to the rear of the fuse holder. If you'll buy a box of 10A yellow ATD type fuses, you can plug them directly to the harness. The "flat pack" type fuses don't have any real weight, so there's nothing to really secure. For off-road riding a plastic cable tie could be used to lash them to the frame for peace of mind, if you like. The remainder of the box of fuses goes in your tool box.
The point is, the ATD type fuses are much easier to find, make a better electrical connection, and save you from buying that fuse holder.
Hope this helps.
PS. If you simply must have the fuse holder I'll sell you mine cheap. Email me from the Profile page.
