The Clymer lists the torque spec being 72 to 76 foot pounds for this year. Brooks Reams went to 90 ft pounds on a 1983 r100rs. Any opinions appreciated! Thanks

Ah fellows, you have an unknown year bike (Eric) and David with a 78RS.   Brook was working on an 83RS.

Two completely different flywheel and clutch assemblies.  Hence two different torque settings.

Go by the data listed in the Clymer book for your bikes. St.
