B.Jan Hoffman sacked
In a split decision, B.Jan Hoffman has been dismissed as editor of the Airmail, discuss.
former Airmarshal, IL.
It seems are current BoD is not representing the whole club. I have had some issues and sent emails and Ducks answers are not what I believe to be up and up. Now I am certain their not. B.Jan has been under fire since this present BoD took over and if this continues with him ousted I hope the club goes under. B.Jan is not perfect but he definitely has the clubs best interest at heart. When a previous BoD asked him to stop his editorials he obliged and this time he did oblige he just has protested more because it seems we have a BoD that is more interested in what they want than the over all membership. I was airmarshal when Joe's debacle and we waded through. I hope our present Airmarshals have the backbone to stand against 3 men trying to destroy our club. Our club is made of mostly old men, the bikes we ride appeal mostly to old men. Attrition is a huge factor in this club and trying to go after the younger set that not only can't afford old bikes but don't want to is asinine. My 2 cents though I probably have a bucks worth.

Why is the BoD’s not answering ?
Why are your actions not published anywhere? Where can the members get complete minutes of your meetings?
If you truly feel you are justified in your actions and can explain how you are above reproach in representing the membership- be public about it.
To the club members- why are they hiding behind their screens?
Explain your actions. One way or another it will become public knowledge.

I'm writing in to let everyone know that the entire Board is not responsible for the firing of B. Jan. Myself (Region 1) and Tim Roberts (Region 2) support Jan as Editor. He does a lot more than write articles, he single-handedly produces the magazine, and was set to do the same with our possible on-line version. Three members of the Board were also resposible for censoring Jan's article in Jan. '23 Airmail. By the way, both Tim and I support member participation in the policy-making process, and it would be wise for concerned Airmarshals to contact their members when something like this comes along. I was so sick of the behind-your-back dealings of the Board, I submitted my resignation in disgust. I'd be happy to continue, but I've never been able to accomplish a thing as a Board member, always voted against or, in a recent case, shot down. I'll still continue to fight for our Club as a member and Airmarshal. Read this before it's removed! I'd rather be outside the tent pissing in, than inside the tent pissing out!
