Hello people i just purchased a R100.....The title says CS on it but the Vin points to R100T....22k miles needs some TLC ...but all there and runs great ...I was told that dealers would put the CS faring on the T back when and sell them as CS bikes as my title states......I have talked to the one and only owner and he said thats the way he purchased i from the dealer....very confused..... whats up any thoughts??? thanks Ridefast99

It is my understanding that the CS stands for "Classic Sport". Legend has it that these were offered after the R100S was no longer available. I'm thinking early 80's.

However, I could be wrong.

Per the Ian Falloon book BMW Boxer Twins, “[for 1981] The R100RT and R100RS continued with a similar style, and the R100S evolved into the R100CS.”
