This is my "barn find" R75/5.
This is a special machine as it was built the year I graduated high school, it was originally sold at a dealer is Wiesbaden, Germany which is where I was stationed in the army right after finishing HS. Chances are real high that this motorcycle was brought back to the states by someone I was stationed with. Just too many connections between me and this bike.
I love that color!

That is one beautiful R75!
It has the long-legged look of an antelope ready to run.
1974 R90S...fully restored motorcycle with period accessories...
Awesome !! :woohoo:
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
that's a beauty! I have it's twin, same Monza blue, my favorite color.
By the way, your mufflers are installed backwards....left-for-right. That's why they are pointed skyward.

That has been pointed out to me before but no one said the mufflers were reversed. I kind of like the look, so until I find some bags for it I guess I'll leave them.
Yeah, that's when it becomes an issue. The mufflers can interfere with the bags.

Ok, one muffler has a detente to clear something and the other side is round. Which is left and right?
The muffler with the detent is left. That formed feature is supposed to allow clearance to allow the rear axle to be pulled out without having to remove the muffler. That would obviously not be an issue with the up-swept profile as pictured.

Yep, the muffler that's mounted on the left side should go on the right side, and vice-versa. The result will be mufflers that are more parallel to the ground, giving you room to mount luggage. If that's not a concern, then there's no harm in leaving the mufflers as is, especially if you prefer the upswept look.
