Started life as a 1983 R80ST. Previous owner up-gunned it to 1050cc with a Siebenrock kit. Solo seat, wixom bags, and the rear end is from a newer R-bike that's easier to get the rear wheel off. Painted a color popular with Jeeps I think. Runs like a top.

A family friend just gifted me his 1976 R90/6. I spent the weekend removing the fairing, luggage and weird seats, along with a really corroded battery. I'm forming a plan now to get it back on the road soon.

A family friend gave me his 1976 R90/6 on Friday. All I had to do was dig it out of his garage! I spent the weekend removing the fairing, luggage and weird seats, along with a really corroded battery. I'm forming a plan now to get it back on the road soon. It hasn't been out of the garage since 1991.
I'll need to source some parts soon (headlight ring, lens, reflector and a seat) to make it roadworthy, but I'll get it running and make sure the brakes and suspension are solid first and replace the tires. I'm looking forward to my new project!

oh lucky you ............. WHAT a gem
you might think the seats are weird, BUTT ..... I'll bet ya they are 100x better than a stock seat for riding any sort of long distance.
hang onto them for now and at least give them a good try ! you WILL be surprised
Thanks Harry! You're right about the seats, they look really comfy. I doubt I'll do a lot of long distance touring. I may go with a (reversible) cafe racer type look for this bike. Nothing extreme.

A few photos from this Summer's travels:
My newly acquired 1974' R90/6. One owner from new who rode it across the country multiple times. Left it sit in 1996 in one of the barns he had on his new property they moved into in 1996. Left piston froze and in the process of trying to find a replacement cylinder. Coming along on the re-hab and look froward to get her running by Spring.
My 1994 R100LT* at Clovelly Beach carpark, Sydney, Australia.
* I'm not sure if the R100LT exists in all countries; it is the R100RT with comfort seat, heated grips, top case and LT badges. It was a limited model run in Australia around 1993-94.

About to get some upgrades over the winter courtesy of the cash I got when I sold my water boxer GS-A.

It pleases me to know that yet one other rider has chosen to "Simpla Fi". If you choose to immerse yourself in the "Airworld" you mostly will find nothing but helpful, friendly riders in our world.
former Airmarshal, IL.
1974 BMW R90S ‘Verruckt’. Fully restored...both mechanically and cosmetically. Upgrades include a rare Avon Lynx full fairing, nickel-lined Heinrich fuel tank, Fallert oil pan, dual plugged motor...etc. One of a kind.
Thanks for the add. Airdale is a garage find 1974 R75/6 that has a long way to go.
