Hi, Brian here from Mundelein IL. I joined about a month ago. I bought my first BMW, a 1983 R100RS in early July. I've put about 1800 miles on it without doing much to it. So far I've changed the fluids and had the original BMW bags repaired. This is my first sport touring bike and I'm looking forward to traveling. I have some vacation hours that I need to burn up before June 1st, so I'm thinking of heading south, maybe along the Mississippi to NOLA. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has another recommendation for places to go in late May.
Looking forward to meeting some of you when the weather breaks.
Also: Michelins or Metzlers?

Welcome aboard. I vote Metzlers. Nice looking bike in the quintessential color.

Great looking bike. There are a great many Airhead members in the greater Chicago area. Be sure to contact me if you have questions about your bike. I recommend going south in May. Anywhere would be just fine. We have a weekend camp-out in June at the 4-H park in Pontiac Il. If you want to send me your contact info, I will make sure you are added to the member list for IL.

Welcome Aboard !

Gorgeous bike, and one of the best years too !

Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
