I am just entering into the airhead world and working on bringing a 1977 r75/7 back to life. I believe the original color is Havana Gold as the tank color looks almost brown, It has been pretty stripped down and needs a paint job. Would y'all recommend repainting it this color to retain its original color and possibly value, as I hear it is rare, or repaint it black and not worry too much about the resale as I am partial to the classic more common black look.

go to Real OEM.com. Click motorcycles, then classic. Put last 7 of the VIN. That will get you the paint code, month/year of production & model. Can search up almost any part of the bike including list $, also if no longer available. Clicking on the part # will bring up model & years that part applies to. Great reference tool.
