1982 R100RS - Value?
New member here, but Ive owned airheads since 1978.
I close friend of mine passed away last week. I will be buying back a 1982 R100RS (which I purchased new) I sold it to him about 13 years ago.
I want to pay his estate a fair & reasonable price for the bike & guessing they will have me set the price.
I am in Chicago area, bike near San Francisco. I wont get a chance to see it before agreeing on the price.
Last I saw it, had about 65,000 miles, Fairing was scatched & had some minor gouges. Overall condition Fair to Good and my friend was not much on maintenance & guess it will need a fair amount of work.
What is a reasonable offer?

That's a very hard question to answer. So what I would do is go to the top of the forum, to the pull-down menu "AirBazaar". There you will find several RS bikes from all over the country. Average those prices and see what it looks like. That's the only what I know to average in location and condition.
Or you could go on Ebay and with the Advanced Search button, look for closed sales on RS bikes within the last year. But I bet there is only 1 or 2 at best.
Owning an old Airhead is easy.
Keeping an old Airhead running great is the true test.
Good advice, Thanks.
