1975 BMW R90s
A complete frame off restoration was completed in 2015 on my R90S. Everything was rebuilt or restored as close to a stock `75 R90s as possible. Frame, swing arm, sub-frame were all painted with a base coat, clear coat products. The body work was painted with the correct Glasurit paints. Both front & rear hubs were bead blasted and new bearing installed. The spokes on both wheels were BMW products and both rims are polished Wienmanns. The front end was dismantled and rebuilt using Progressive springs. The trees were maintained stock. Both 38mm front calipers were rebuilt as well as the 17mm under tank master cylinder. Stock brake lines were used. The head bearing were replaced. The engine was dismantled and cylinders were sized with a correct pair of 1st oversized 9.5 to 1 pistons. While the engine was dismantled the engine's reciprocation and rotating mass was balanced which makes an unbelievable difference in the smoothness of the engine all the way through the rpm range. The transmission was dismantled, cleaned, and rebuilt using a later shifting cog for a much superior shifting feel. The correct 33/11 final drive was rebuilt and fitted with new gaskets. Correct instruments were found, rebuilt and used for the speedo & tach and the correct volt meter & clock are also working. Chrome pannier racks and a near perfect set of Krauser panniers add to the correct look and functionality of this early sport touring machine. The bike is well sorted with 3,540 miles ridden since the ground up restoration. Offered for sale at: $15,500.
